action

Frank Harmon is a middle-aged divorced realtor who lives alone in a luxury home in the Hollywood Hills. He is a loner who enjoys his solitude and avoids having more serious relationships with women.

By chance he meets the carefree Breezy, a 19-year-old free spirit who hitchhiks a few dollars for a living. With her carefree and unpretentious approach to life, she hits a nerve in him, even if he doesn't want to admit it at first.

With her charm, Breezy manages to tear down the self-built emotional wall around the cynical Frank, and soon the two become a couple. However, they do not live in a vacuum and encounter irritation and incomprehension in their environment. Frank is struggling with it, while Breezy continues to be completely unfazed. At first glance, a relationship on an equal footing seems almost impossible due to the age difference, life experience and social position.

Finally they split up after Frank's boyfriend Bob gave him a long talk about his, Bob's, midlife crisis. Frank refers this criticism to himself and breaks up with Breezy in a very rude way that same evening. Only a stroke of fate that hits his ex-girlfriend Beth shows him how unimportant the reaction of those around him is and he can win Breezy back.

criticism

"A brilliantly played modern fairy tale, unsentimental and appealingly entertaining, even if staged a little superficially."
