action

The series name refers to the main character, Lawyer Petrocelli , who is American of Italian descent. His form is the movie The defense lawyers ( The Lawyer ) from 1968 borrowed. Petrocelli works in San Remo, a small town in Arizona .

In contrast to most of the other series of this genre, the “star lawyer” was not shown here, but a lawyer who works in rather modest circumstances and tries to achieve the maximum for his clients through personal commitment. These clients mostly came from the same social environment as him and were often unable to pay him for his work, which is why he often had to be satisfied with an ideal moral reward. Throughout the series, Tony Petrocelli ( Barry Newman ) lives with his wife Maggie ( Susan Howard ) in a trailer on the edge of the desert and is there with her and his assistant Pete Ritter ( Albert Salmi ) building a permanent house .

This series was also broadcast from 1976 in 45 episodes in Germany on ZDF . They ran as a repeat on some private broadcasters.

Donald R. Rode won an Emmy for editing in 1975 for the episode Mirror, Mirror On The Wall .
