Carrie Snodgress

Carrie Snodgress (born October 27, 1945 in Park Ridge , Illinois , † April 1, 2004 in Los Angeles , California ; actually Caroline Snodgress ) was an American actress .

Life

She received in 1971 an Oscar nomination and two Golden Globes for her role in the film Diary of adultery (Diary of a Mad Housewife) as best actress and as a most promising talent. Around 1971 she retired into private life and lived with Neil Young . With him she had a son named Zeke, who suffers from infantile cerebral palsy . In 1975 the couple separated.

In 1978 she started a comeback , but ultimately could not build on the early success. She played theater and made numerous films of various quality for cinema and television.

Carrie Snodgress died of heart failure while waiting for a liver transplant in a Los Angeles hospital .
