Barbara Carrera
Barbara Carrera (* 31 December 1945 as Barbara Kingsbury in Bluefields , Nicaragua ) is an American actress .
life and career
The daughter of the Nicaraguan Florencia Carrera and the US diplomat Louis Kingsbury, who worked in Nicaragua, went to the USA at the age of ten and went to school there at the St. Joseph Academy in Memphis . At 15, she moved to New York .
At 17, she became a very successful model for the Eileen Ford Agency. At that time, she changed her last name to her mother's maiden name. She made her film debut in Puzzle of a Downfall Child in 1970. In 1972 she was featured in a television commercial for the Chiquita Bananas company. In 1976 she was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Young Actress for her role in the Tom Laughlin- directed film The Avengers of California .
Since Illusion Infinity (aka Paradise, 2004) she has not appeared as a film or television actress.
She became known worldwide primarily for her roles as the murderous femme fatale in the Mickey Spillane film adaptation I, the Judge (1982) and a year later in the James Bond film Never Say Never as Fatima Blush, for which she played another Received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress . In 1985/86 she played as Angelica Nero for a series in Dallas . In 1989 she appeared in the comedy Loverboy - love on order , in 1996 she starred in the comedy Love and others… .
She also devotes herself to painting, which has become her greatest hobby. Her paintings, which she made of well-known Hollywood actors, are particularly well known.
Barbara Carrera was married to her model colleague Uva Barden, Baron Otto von Hoffman, the Greek shipowner Nicholas Mavroleon and the photographer Cameron Docherty. All marriages ended in divorce, she remained childless.
A rare variety of Floribunda rose was named after her.
