action

The comedy is a film adaptation of the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare , but the plot has been relocated to the Bronx in New York . The snack bar owners Capomezzo from Sicily compete with the Malacici family, who used to be nobles in Italy and run an Italian restaurant. The Capomezzo are in debt.

The 16-year-old Rosario Capomezzo falls in love with Gina Malacici of the same age as he and Gina prepare the performance of an amateur theater. The young people fight against the resistance of their parents and want to get married in the end. Mona helps, who mediates the dispute.
