Cathy Moriarty

Cathy Moriarty-Gentile (born November 29, 1960 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Moriarty grew up in Yonkers . She made her debut alongside Robert De Niro in the 1980 film drama Like a Wild Bull . For this role, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and Best New Actress in 1981. She was also nominated for an Oscar in 1981 and a BAFTA Award in 1982 .

In the action film Kindergarten Cop (1990), Moriarty played the mother of one of the children who is cared for by police officer John Kimble ( Arnold Schwarzenegger ) disguised as a teacher . In the comedy Forget Paris she appeared alongside Billy Crystal and Debra Winger . She was nominated for the DVD Exclusive Award in 2001 for the lead role in the thriller Red Team (1999) . In the comedy Reine Nervensache 2 (2002) she played one of the bigger roles alongside Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal and Lisa Kudrow .

Moriarty has been married to Joseph Gentile since 1999 and has three children.
