Frank Kannewurf (born January 11, 1972 in Berlin , GDR ) is a former German ice hockey player on the position of defender . With a height of 1.88 m and a weight of 88 kg, his strength was the physical game in defense.

Career

Kannewurf began his career at EHC Dynamo Berlin ; In 1991/92 he played for EHC Wolfsburg and BSC Preussen before returning to Eisbären Berlin. At the capital club, he played four seasons in the first Bundesliga, which was renamed the German Ice Hockey League in 1994 . Then he was back on the ice for the BSC, the Ratinger Löwen , Odessa Jackalopes , ETC Crimmitschau , EV Füssen , GEC Nordhorn , ERC Haßfurt , ERC Ingolstadt , EV Füssen, and ERC Selb . In the 2002/03 season he ended his career with the Eisbären Juniors in the Regionalliga.

In total, Kannewurf (for the Capitals, Eisbären and Ratingen) completed 174 games in the highest German ice hockey league. He scored 19 goals and 31 assists. His liaison with television presenter Victoria Herrmann (" Elf 99 ") made headlines in the (East) German tabloids from 1994 to 1996. Since 2005 Frank Kannewurf has been working as a personal trainer in Berlin.
