The daring jockey (English: Money from Home ) is the only 3D film by the comedian duo Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and at the same time their first color film. The script was based on a template by the American author Damon Runyon .

Herman 'Honey Talk' Nelson has carelessly amassed a lot of gambling debt. Now he is blackmailed by a betting fraud ring to manipulate a racehorse. Honey Talk hires his dumb cousin, Virgil Yokum , a veterinarian assistant. Virgil is supposed to make sure that the famous racehorse is the last to cross the finish line, but with him as a rider it even comes first.

The daring jockey is said to be one of only two 3D films that was shot in a three-strip Technicolor . The second film was "flight to Tangier" ( Flight to Tangier , 1953) with Jack Palance .
The film songs are penned by Jack Brooks , Burton Lane and Joseph J. Lilley .
