Warren Low

Warren Low (born August 12, 1905 in Pittsburgh , † July 27, 1989 in Woodland Hills ) was an American film editor .

Live and act

Low worked as a minor actor in cinema productions at the age of 14 and worked in various film laboratories until 1924. He was then stationed as a US Marine in Southeast Asia until 1928 . On his return he got a job in the editing department of Warner Bros. As an assistant editor he worked under Ralph Dawson's direction on A Midsummer Night's Dream and was then hired by William Dieterle to get the editing for several of his films.

In 1942 he was called up for military service. On his return in 1946, Low was hired by Hal B. Wallis and edited most of the films he produced.

In his more than 30-year career, he has worked in over 80 film productions and has been nominated for an Oscar four times . In 1989 he received the American Cinema Editors' Career Achievement Award for life's work .
