action

Gino is an Italian sheep farmer based in Nevada . Widowed at an early age, he decides to marry his late wife's sister. Gioia comes to him from Italy and moves into his house. There she is warmly received by Gino's family. Only Gino is not very happy because Gioia is different from her sister. She cannot be controlled by the authoritarian Gino. Together with Gino and Bene, Gino's adopted son, Gioia drives across the vast land of the sheep ranch. When they see a wild herd of horses grazing, Gino wants to shoot the lead stallion. Gioia feels sorry for the animals and prevents this. She would like to have a horse herself. However, when she sees how brutally Gino rides the horse, she would rather release it again. Gino is so upset about it that he hits Gioia. Bene comes to her aid and falls in love with Gioia. A romance slowly develops between the two. When Gino goes to Boston to visit daughter Angela, the relationship between Gioia and Bene intensifies. Shortly before Gino comes back, Gioia spends the night with Bene in his room. The next day she is confronted by Teresa, who is the only one who knows about the relationship. Gioia declares that she loves Bene and plans to leave with him.

When Gino is back, there is an argument between him and Bene. Bene leaves the ranch and Gioia decides to return to Italy. Only a conversation between Gino and his brother Alberto brings Gino to his senses. He always compared Gioia to her sister and never gave her a real chance to be his wife. Gino then drives to the airport after Gioia, and a reconciliation takes place at the airport. Gioia returns to the ranch with Gino.
