Junction Bhowani (Original title: Bhowani Junction) is an American film from 1956, based on the novel of the same name by John Masters .

action

Victoria Jones, a half-Indian woman, seeks her identity in the turmoil of the uprisings. She is almost raped by a British Army man and kills him in self-defense . Her work colleague, also an Indian, helps her to cover up the crime. She becomes his fiancée out of gratitude. Ranjit's mother has ties to a mysterious terrorist. The young woman is now between two cultures and is almost insane with fear. Her boss Rodney Savage eventually helps her.
