The Chapman Report (Original title: The Chapman Report ) is an American drama film directed by George Cukor for Darryl F. Zanuck Productions from 1962 with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. , Jane Fonda , Claire Bloom and Shelley Winters in the lead roles. The film is based on the novel The Chapman Report by Irving Wallace .

action

Psychologist George C. Chapman arrives in a Los Angeles suburb with his assistant Paul Radford in tow. You are about to volunteer for your sex survey and four women raise their hands: Sarah Garnell is a middle-aged woman who is having an affair with the young director Fred Linden; Teresa Harnish is a happily married woman who is attracted to beefy footballer Ed Kraski; Naomi Shields is an alcoholic nymphomaniac who takes on an unsavory jazz musician, and Kathleen Barclay is a young widow who lives in what appears to be frigidity. These four women tell the researcher Chapman about their sex lives.

Reviews

Kinsey's study of American sexual behavior was the inspiration for the film, Irving Wallace 's novel of the same name . Cukor is the story of the four women in a small American town who provide a scientist with information about their (sex) lives, approached with the restraint that is usual for him, but the final version was radically mutilated by the producer and censors.
