Irving Wallace

Irving Wallace (born March 19, 1916 in Chicago , Illinois , † June 29, 1990 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American bestselling and screenwriter . His works are known for their wealth of ideas and careful research.

Life

Wallace was born to the Wallechinsky, a Jewish couple who immigrated from Russia. He was the father of Olympia - historian David Wallechinsky .

Several of his books have been made into films. His best-known works include The 1960 Chapman Report , The 1963 Price and 1974 Fan Club . Wallace has also written several notable non-fiction books, including several editions of The People Almanac and The Book of Lists . Articles written by him have appeared in magazines such as The American Legion Magazine , Liberty , Cosmopolitan , Esquire and Collier’s .

Wallace grew up in Kenosha , Wisconsin , where he went to Kenosha Central High School. He then attended the Williams Institute in Berkeley , California, and Los Angeles City College .

After his death, Wallace was buried in the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City , California.

He sold over 250 million copies of his books worldwide.
