Robin Moore
Robin Moore (actually Robert Lowell Moore, Jr .; born October 31, 1925 in Concord , Massachusetts , † February 21, 2008 in Hopkinsville , Kentucky ) was an American author and screenwriter .
Life
Moore's best-known novel, The French Connection, is about the work of two undercover agents for the New York City Drug Department . It was made into a film by director William Friedkin in 1971 under the title French Connection - Focal Point Brooklyn and was awarded five Academy Awards. He also wrote the template for the war film The Green Devils by and with John Wayne , for whose research he successfully completed a special forces qualification course with the US Army and then with a special permit in the ranks of the Special Forces , the so-called "Green Berets" , fought in Vietnam . He was also the winner of the Golden Raspberry 1982 for the worst screenplay of the year.
