George Boemler
George E. Boemler (born March 5, 1902 in Kansas City , Missouri , † June 11, 1968 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor .
Life
George Boemler was hired by MGM as editor in 1930 and slowly worked his way up through rather insignificant films. From 1936 he worked particularly often with director Richard Thorpe . He also edited a number of George Cukor's films , such as B. Greta Garbo's last film The Woman with Two Faces (1941) or the two Katharine-Hepburn - Spencer-Tracy comedies Ehekrieg (1949) and Pat and Mike (1952).
In 1956 Boemler received an Oscar nomination for Best Editing for the musical Oklahoma! by director Fred Zinnemann . In 1962 he retired from the film business. He died in Los Angeles in 1968 at the age of 66 , where he was buried in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery .
