Edwin L. Marin

Edwin L. Marin (born February 21, 1899 in Jersey City , New Jersey , † May 2, 1951 in Los Angeles ) was an American film director.

Marin began his film work in 1919 as a camera assistant. In 1932 he made his debut as a film director with the film The Kiss of Death . Bela Lugosi played one of the main roles. He shot numerous B-movies for MGM in the 1930s . He made six films alone with Reginald Owen in the leading role. From 1941 he worked as a freelance director for Universal Studios and RKO . He established himself as a western and crime film director. He mainly shot with Randolph Scott and George Raft in the leading roles. Marin made over 50 films between 1932 and 1951.

Edwin L. Marin was married to actress Ann Morriss from 1940 until his death in 1951 . They had three children.
