Nancy Anne Allen (born June 24, 1950 in New York City ) is an American actress .

life and career

Allen grew up in the New York suburb of Yonkers , her father was a police officer. She attended the High School of Performing Arts to prepare for a planned career as a dancer. She later attended the Jose Quintanos School for Young Professionals .

Allen received her first film role in 1962, and she appeared in television commercials at the age of 15 . In the film The Last Command (1973) she played alongside Jack Nicholson and directed the Stephen King film Carrie - Des Satan's Youngest Daughter in 1976 for the film company United Artists . Allen starred alongside Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in the comedy film 1941 - Where Please Go to Hollywood (1979) . In the film Dressed to Kill (1980) by Brian De Palma she played alongside Michael Caine and Angie Dickinson , for this role she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress as well as for the Golden Raspberry Award. For her role in The Philadelphia Experiment (1984) she was nominated for the Saturn Award , for roles in the films RoboCop (1987) and RoboCop 3 (1993) were further nominations for the Saturn Award. This was followed by a role in the film The Man Who Never Died (1994) on the side of Roger Moore . She last appeared as an actress in 2008. Her work includes 39 productions.

Allen was married to Brian De Palma from 1979 to 1983, and to Craig Shoemaker from 1992 to 1994 . Her last marriage to Randy Bailey lasted from 1997 to 2008.
