criticism
“A lovable old-fashioned crime thriller without any fake brutality. In some places it was improbably constructed, but all in all exciting entertainment of the gentler kind. "
"Well-groomed, home-made psychological terror."
“Well-kept British thriller with a lot of atmosphere, well-known stars, as well as the necessary pinch of irony and black humor. As a writing investigator, co-producer and ex-007 Roger Moore can be seen, who this time is emphatically snobbish and arrogant. He is supported by Nancy Allen ("Robocop", "Dressed To Kill"), while parade villain Malcolm McDowell ("Caligula", "Clockwork Orange") pulls out all the tricks as a brilliant killer. Despite the somewhat old-fashioned design, crime thriller fans of all levels [sic!] Are well entertained. "
“Why aren't there more television movies with the same black sense of humor as this one? [...] Great material, staged at full performance by Bill Condon and with wonderfully exaggerated appearances by Roger Moore, Malcolm McDowell and Nancy Allen. This is certainly worth an hour and a half of everyone's time. "
