Berta Zirn

Berta Zirn (born February 8, 1891 in Bubsheim ; † January 13, 1976 ) was a German nurse . She has received several awards for her exceptionally long, continuous work in nursing over more than five decades.

Live and act

Berta Zirn was born on February 8, 1891 in Bubsheim. After finishing school, she trained as a nurse at the Nymphenburg Hospital in Munich . In 1920 she passed the exam. On October 1, 1920, she started work as a community nurse in her hometown of Bubsheim and still held this position at the old age of over 80 until her death in 1976. She also took care of the Bubsheim church and sacristy for over 50 years.

Berta Zirn died in mid-January 1976 a few weeks before she turned 85.

Honors

On the occasion of her 70th birthday on February 8, 1961, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . On the occasion of her 50th anniversary as a nurse, she was appointed on January 24, 1971 on behalf of the Caritas Association Freiburg by the Papal House Prelate Dr. Alfred Weitmann from the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart was awarded the Golden Caritas Cross. Mayor Josef Stier granted her honorary citizenship of the municipality of Bubsheim on behalf of the municipal council on the same day .
