action
Charles Lattimore is the author of a bestseller on a famous murder case. With his research he incriminated the murdered woman's husband, who was imprisoned.
Lattimore's ex-wife Laura asked him to give a series of lectures on literary work at a college. Have the students write down their ideas for 'perfect murders' as an exercise.
One of the students asks Charles to meet. She is found murdered and Lattimore is suspected of being the culprit. He himself suspects that the murder was only committed to incriminate him. Laura's companion in life is also murdered.
One of the students helps Lattimore to unmask the killer. The guilty party turns out to be a police officer who had a relationship with the woman who was murdered years ago. The policeman wants to kill Lattimore and the student, his colleagues prevent this. Since the student secretly recorded the event with a tape recorder, the murderer is convicted and arrested.
