Raphael Sbarge (born February 12, 1964 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Raphael Sbarge grew up in a theater family. His mother was a costume designer , his father a scriptwriter , painter and director . He got his first name from his parents based on the Italian painter Raffael .

Sbarge's stage career began when he was four and a half years old when he worked on Sesame Street . However, he spent most of the time with his mother in costume dressing rooms and at auditions that he attended with his father. In his youth he appeared in various theater productions on Broadway alongside such well-known actors as Jason Robards , Colleen Dewhurst , Faye Dunaway , Gwyneth Paltrow and Frank Langella . After graduating from high school , Sbarges began his film and television career. Since October 2011 he has appeared as Jiminy Cricket and as Archibald "Archie" Hopper in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time produced by ABC .

Raphael Sbarge has been married to the film actress Lisa Akey since August 12, 1994 . The two have a daughter who was born on August 26, 2002.
