Dr. Dani Santino - Game of Life (Original title: Necessary Roughness ) is an American dramedy - television series with Callie Thorne and Marc Blucas in the lead roles, designed by Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro . It was produced between 2011 and 2013 by Universal Cable Productions in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television for the US cable broadcaster USA Network and is based on a true story. It was first broadcast on June 29, 2011 by the US broadcaster USA Network.

The focus is on the single mother Dani Santino, who is looking for a job as a psychologist again after her divorce. A professional league football team hires her to provide psychological support for players who are not always easy patients. So she soon stands between the different challenges of her professional and private life.

The seemingly idyllic life of mother and wife Dani Santino is suddenly over when she catches her husband having an affair.
