Amanda Detmer

Amanda Jeannette Detmer (* 27. September 1971 in Chico , California ) is an American actress .

Life

Amanda Detmer is the daughter of the teacher Susan Detmer, b. Thurmon, and her husband, the singing cowboy and rice farmer Melvin Lester Detmer.

Detmer graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City . She starred in the film Gnadenlos Schön (1999) alongside Kirsten Dunst and Ellen Barkin , in Boys, Girls & a Kiss (2000) alongside Claire Forlani , in the film The Majestic (2001) alongside Jim Carrey . In the film Kiss the Bride (2002) she took on the leading role, in the supporting roles played, among others, Burt Young and Alyssa Milano . She has also appeared in a number of television series such as Days of Blood - The Beast of Dallas ( To Serve and Protect , 1999) MYOB (2000) and AUSA (2003).

In 1998 she starred in Minneapolis in the play Last Lakes , which was later made into a film. In 2001 she starred in the play Amadeus at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
