Baby Daddy is a US sitcom , which for the first time 20 June 2012 the cable channel ABC Family (since 2016 Freeform aired). When the doorbell rings, a one-night stand by Ben Wheeler has put a baby in front of the door. Ben suspects that it is his daughter and decides to raise the girl. He receives support from his mother Bonnie, his brother Danny, his best friend Tucker and his best friend and neighbor Riley.

- Ben is the protagonist of the series and is in his twenties. He doesn't know what to do with his life. One day he finds a baby at his door and he learns that he has become a father. He decides to take care of his daughter.
- Tucker Dobbs
- Tucker is Ben's best friend and roommate. He marked his food as soon as Danny moved in. Tucker is kind to everyone as long as they don't eat all of his groceries. He and Bonnie are the only ones who know at first that Danny has his eye on Riley.
- Daniel "Danny" J. Wheeler
- He is Ben's older brother and a professional ice hockey player. He came from the Calgary Flames to the New York Rangers through a barter . His little brother looks up to him because he has everything a man wants. He's the only person in the beginning who knows that Riley is in love with Ben and that she can't tell him the truth about it. However, Danny is in love with Riley himself and it pains him that she loves his brother.
- Bonnie Wheeler
- Bonnie is the mother of Ben and Danny. She thinks Ben is not ready to look after a child because she is still buying his underpants. She is also a big fan of the rock band Bon Jovi .
- Riley Perrin
- She is Danny's best friend who lost 200 pounds. Riley has been in love with Ben since childhood, but only Danny knows, who in turn is in love with her. Despite problems with the Law School Admission Tests (LSAT), she managed to get into law school. At the end of the second season, she briefly becomes Ben's girlfriend.

On August 17, 2012, ABC Family commissioned a second season. For the second season, Grace Phipps , Lacey Chabert and Matt Dallas were cast for guest roles.
As announced on March 23, 2013, ABC Family has extended the series for a third season before the start of the second season.
On March 17, 2014, it was announced that ABC Family had extended the series for a fourth season, the Halloween special of which aired on October 22, 2014. The regular broadcast should take place from January 14, 2015.
In June 2016, the production of a sixth season was announced.
In May 2017, the US broadcaster Freeform announced that it would no longer extend the series, making the sixth season the last.
