Matt Dallas
Matthew "Matt" Joseph Dallas (born October 21, 1982 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American actor who was best known for the US television series Kyle XY .
Life
Dallas was born in 1982 in Phoenix and grew up there. He is the oldest of four children. He has two younger brothers and one younger sister. Dallas also completed his school career in Phoenix.
Dallas found his way into acting when, at the age of 12, he and his grandmother attended a performance of The Ugly Duckling and decided one day to act as an actor himself. He then attended, among other things, the Arizona School for the Arts, where he received special acting training. At 18, Dallas moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career.
In January 2013, Dallas announced its engagement to musician Blue Hamilton via Twitter. The two married on July 5, 2015. At the end of December 2015, the two adopted a two-year-old boy.
Career
In the course of time he came to engagements in film and television via theater appearances and appearances in music videos. Among other things, he was seen in the music video for the single Geek Love by Fan 3 in 2004 and in the following year he also got an engagement in the video for James Blunt's single Goodbye My Lover .
In the same year he started as an actor in various films. He was seen in rather smaller supporting or guest roles in the films Way of the Vampire and Wannabe, as well as in his first major role in the horror film Camp Slaughter , which also became known under the name Camp Daze . Dallas also made a guest appearance on an episode of Entourage that year .
Matt Dallas got his breakthrough when he was cast in the main and title role of the new ABC series Kyle XY and henceforth in the role of Kyle Trager aka. XY aka. 781227 could be seen. He played this role in every episode of the series and has been nominated for many prizes and awarded several awards.
In 2007 he won the “Rising Star Award” at the Saturn Awards and was nominated in the same year in the “Best Actor in a Television Program” category. He was also nominated at the Teen Choice Awards 2007 for a Teen Choice Award in the "Choice TV: Breakout" category. In 2008 he was again nominated for a Saturn Award in the category "Best Actor on Television" for his engagement in Kyle XY . The series itself received a few more nominations for various television awards before it expired in 2009.
At the same time, Dallas worked on numerous side projects, above all on film productions. In 2006 it was used in the feature film Living the Dream and in the short film Shugar Shank . In 2007 he was seen in a leading role in the drama The Indian . The film won numerous prizes at the Monaco International Film Festival , with Dallas winning an “Angel Film Award” in the categories “Best Newcomer” and “Best Ensemble Cast”.
Other projects parallel to Kyle XY were the production of the horror film Babysitter Wanted , in which he was seen in a supporting role, and the music video for Katy Perry's Thinking of You . He was also seen in six of the first seven episodes of the television series Eastwick , which aired from 2009 and whose production was discontinued after only one season with 13 episodes.
From 2010, Dallas was booked again for numerous different film projects. He was seen in As Good as Dead and Business Plan to Fall in Love, as well as in the quarter-hour short film In Between Days, each in one of the supporting roles. In addition, the premiere of Hot Dudes with Kittens followed in 2011 , in this short film he again played a supporting role. The film You, Me & The Circus , in which Dallas played a leading role, started just a few months after the short film premiered . Matt Dallas was nominated for an award in the category “WMIFF Best Actor in a Feature Film” at the World Music and Independent Film Festival (WMIFF).
In 2012, Dallas starred in many films such as The Ghost of Goodnight Lane , Life Tracker and Naughty or Nice .
Matt Dallas has no fixed vote for German-language dubbed versions of the series and films. He was dubbed in German by Nicolás Artajo in the Kyle XY series and by Alexander Brem in the film Business Plan to Fall in Love . As a theater actor, he appeared in numerous well-known plays at various theaters in his hometown and was then briefly active in Los Angeles as an actor in the theater.
