Calliope "Callie" Thorne (born November 20, 1969 in Sudbury , Massachusetts ) is an American actress .

Life

Thorne graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1987 and then studied theater and drama at Wheaton College in Massachusetts and the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City .

She made her acting debut in 1996 in the film Ed's Next Move . A year later she got a supporting role in the television series Homicide . Smaller film roles followed, as well as several guest appearances in television series. From 2002 she took on a recurring role in The Wire and from 2006 to 2008 in Prison Break . Her greatest success so far is the series Rescue Me , in which she has played a leading role alongside Denis Leary since 2004 .

Since June 2011 she has played one of the leading roles in the USA network series Dr. Dani Santino - Game of Life .

In addition to films and TV series, Thorne has also played in various theater plays. For example, in 1999 in The Country Club alongside Cynthia Nixon and in 2005 in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot , directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman .
