action
The film story is set in Bayonne ( New Jersey ) in 1987. Debbie Miller is experiencing mood swings. She turns to a doctor who advises her to have fun with her friends.
Debbie and her friend Beth go to a bar where they look for male acquaintances. Beth flirts with the bartender, which Debbie doesn't like. She leaves the bar and meets a man who accompanies her on the way to her car. When she meets the man again the next day, it turns out that he is not looking for a relationship, just a one night stand.
Debbie's mother, Virginia, meets Nick, an elderly man, who expects Virginia to move to Florida with him . But Nick suddenly dies of a heart attack and Virginia realizes that until she met Nick, she had spent her life waiting for something to happen to her. In the end, Debby, Beth and Virginia fight for stability in their lives and in the end they agree that everything they need is actually just themselves and that they have this together and don't have to look for anything.
