Michaela McManus (born May 20, 1983 in Warwick , Rhode Island ) is an American actress .

Life

She grew up in Rhode Island and studied at Fordham University in New York City , the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and New York University .

McManus starred in the film The Beautiful Lie , which won the 2006 MTV Movie Award . She was best known for her roles in the television series One Tree Hill as Lindsey Strauss and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Kim Grayleck . She made guest appearances in CSI: NY and CSI: Miami . In October 2010 it was announced that McManus would take on a permanent guest role in the television series Vampire Diaries , which she performed over 11 episodes. She plays the werewolf Jules , who causes the main characters some difficulties, for example by causing the death of a close friend. She also acted in 2010 in the drama Cafè alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt in a supporting role. In 2011 she played Kathleen Roberts in the television series Hawaii Five-0 for an episode . She also starred in the 2012 series Awake alongside Jason Isaacs .

Since 2013 she can also be seen alongside George Clooney in an advertising spot for the Nestlé food company for its Nespresso coffee system .
