Red Machine - Hunt or Be Hunted is an American-Canadian horror film directed by David Hackl and written by JR Reher. The film stars James Marsden , Thomas Jane , Billy Bob Thornton , Piper Perabo and Scott Glenn play the leading roles. The film was produced in 2014 and released on DVD in Germany in February 2015.

In the dark forests of Alaska, cruel incidents pile up. The local sheriff Beckett has been dealing with mysterious deaths and badly damaged bodies in the recent past. The mutilated corpses suggest that a huge grizzly bear is up to mischief in the woods. When his younger brother Rowan, who has not had contact with him for years, tries to search for his recently missing friend Johnny in the wooded area, Beckett is anything but thrilled. Reluctantly, he teams up with his brother, who has just been released from jail, to embark on a rescue mission to the bear's territory. The situation is made even more complicated by the fact that Beckett's unsuspecting wife, Michelle, is also roaming the woods and is deaf. This promptly falls into a trap set up by poachers and is at the mercy of the grizzly when Rowan appears just in time and is able to drive the bear away. Their search leads the dissimilar brothers into the infamous Grizzly Maze, a secluded piece of wilderness.

Meanwhile, the unscrupulous and fanatical bear hunter Douglas is in the area. The actually quarreling brothers penetrate deeper and deeper into the wilderness and do not suspect that the killer bear, who has found a taste for human flesh, is right on their heels. Soon the hunters themselves become the hunted.
