Adam Beach (born November 11, 1972 in Ashern , Manitoba , Canada ) is a Canadian film actor .

Adam Beach, a native of Anishinabe , was born northwest of Winnipeg on Lake Manitoba on the Dog Creek Reservation. He was only seven years old when his mother (who was eight months pregnant) was fatally injured by a drunk driver. Beach's father took his own life two months later out of grief by drowning himself in Lake Winnipeg .

Beach and his brothers were now raised by relatives in Winnipeg. Here he attended Gordon Bell High School and was interested in music and theater . As a teenager, he formed the short-lived garage band Lethic , who covered heavy metal music including Black Sabbath . He also took acting classes.

In 1990, at the age of 18, Beach made his film debut in the Canadian drama Lost in the Barrens . From then on, he appeared in front of the camera in numerous television series and feature films. However, the actor gained fame in 2002 for his role in John Woo's war film Windtalkers . 2006 Beach played in Clint Eastwood's war film Flags of Our Fathers the Pima -Indianer Ira Hayes . Hayes was one of the six US Marines who became known as war heroes through the photograph Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima, taken during the Battle of Iwo Jima . Since 2002, he starred in three television films based on novels of Tony Hillerman the Navajo -Polizisten Jim Chee .

Most recently, Beach has used his notoriety to speak for the interests of the American First Nations in schools and at lectures .

Beach has been married twice so far. He has two sons with his first wife, Meredith Porter. From July 5, 2003 to 2007, Tara Mason was his wife. He has been in a relationship with Summer Tiger since 2008. Their daughter was born in October 2008.
