David Hackl

David Hackl (born February 7, 1963 in Toronto , Canada ) is a Canadian production designer and film director .

Career

Hackl has been active in the film business as a production designer since 1998. Previously, in 1994, he was the art director for the television film Mary Silliman's War . 2005 was involved as such in Saw II , as well as in parts 3 and 4 of the series . At the same time, he was also active as a second unit director on Saw III and Saw IV .

With the fifth part of the series, he finally made his own directorial debut in 2008. In 2014 he presented his second feature film as a director with Red Machine - Hunt or Be Hunted . In 2015 Der Sturm - Life on the Line with John Travolta in the lead role followed. He then directed three episodes of the documentary series Real Detective , followed by the 2019 thriller Daughter of the Wolf .
