Concetta Tomei

Concetta Tomei (born December 30, 1945 in Kenosha , Wisconsin , USA ) is an American film and theater actress .

biography

Concetta Tomei was associated with acting early on by her artistically interested father. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin , where she earned her bachelor's degree in education . Tomei worked as a teacher at a school in the suburbs of Milwaukee for almost four years until she decided in the late 1960s to give it a try as an actress.

She moved to Chicago and attended the Goodman School of Drama there . After completing her bachelor's degree in theater studies there, she appeared in various plays, including A Streetcar Named Desire and The Corn Is Green . In the 1970s Tomei got engagements on Broadway and appeared on stage with David Bowie in The Elephant Man .

From 1985 Tomei was also in front of the camera. Her breakthrough came in 1986 in six episodes of the Falcon Crest television series . Her film career was limited to television series with a few exceptions. One of her better known feature films was the 1998 disaster film Deep Impact . Tomei had guest appearances in series such as Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager , A Heavenly Family , King of Queens or For All Cases Amy .

Tomei is married to a lawyer .
