Marcus Paul Blucas (born January 11, 1972 in Butler , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor and film producer .

life and career

Marc Blucas was a talented basketball player even in high school , which earned him a scholarship to Wake Forest University in North Carolina . He played four years for Wake Forest College basketball, including a year with future NBA star Tim Duncan . After college Blucas went for a season to the Manchester Giants by England .

Upon his return to the United States, Blucas planned a career as a lawyer , inspired by the film A Matter of Honor with Tom Cruise . However, the night before the entrance exam, he changed his mind and decided to give it a try as an actor.

Blucas played his first minor role in the basketball film Eddie with Whoopi Goldberg ; during the casting, he benefited from his talent as a basketball player. Blucas had his breakthrough as an actor as Riley Finn in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer . In 2004 he starred with Katie Holmes in his first leading role in First Daughter - Date with Obstacles in front of the camera, five years later he directed the action comedy Knight and Day with Holmes' husband Tom Cruise , in which he played a supporting role.

Further film and television appearances followed. Blucas' work includes more than 60 productions.
