Jeff Russo (born August 31, 1969 ) is an American composer , songwriter , guitarist , singer and record producer and co-founder of the American rock band Tonic .

Russo is also known as a composer for various television series such as Fargo , Legion , Counterpart , and Star Trek: Discovery . He also wrote the music for the mini-series The Night Of and the soundtrack for the video game adventure What Remains of Edith Finch . For his work in Fargo , he won the 2017 Emmy Award for Music Composition for a miniseries, a television film or a special .

Life

Recently, Russo has been writing music for movies, television series, video games, and commercials including the ABC drama series The Unusuals and My Generation , the USA network series Dr. Dani Santino - Game of Life , the CBS thriller series Hostages and currently the FX drama series Fargo and the Starz drama series Power . He also wrote the soundtracks for the second seasons of Extant and CSI: Cyber .

In late June 2020, Jeff Russo became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .

Russo is married to the musician Nina Gordon from the band Veruca Salt and they have two children together.
