Criminal Minds: Team Red (Original title: Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior ) is an American television series and the first offshoot of Criminal Minds . The series was produced by CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios from 2010 to 2011 . While CBS owns the rights to the broadcast in the US, ABC has the rights to the international broadcast.
On May 17, 2011, the series was discontinued by CBS after a season consisting of 13 episodes. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior ends with a cliffhanger .

In early 2009, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reported that ABC and CBS Studios were considering an offshoot of the Criminal Minds series . The producer Ed Bernero announced that it was certain that there would be an offshoot in the near future. The series consists of Kirsten Vangsness , whose role as Penelope Garcia was taken over from the original series Criminal Minds , from a new cast.
After CBS put the pilot in series, it was announced on June 9, 2010 that Andrew Bernstein would be directing .
Forest Whitaker was cast as the chief of the department. Richard Schiff played a supporting role as FBI Director Jack Fickler. The team around Whitaker was introduced and introduced in a backdoor pilot in the episode Fight for Survival (Original title: The Fight ) in the fifth season of Criminal Minds . The episode first aired on April 7, 2010 in the United States and July 18, 2010 in Germany.

German-speaking area
In Germany, the backdoor pilot was shown for the first time on July 18, 2010 on the pay TV channel 13th Street and on January 29, 2011 on the free TV channel Sat.1 . In September 2010 the ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group secured the rights to the German broadcast . It was broadcast on Sat.1 from August 28 to November 20, 2011 on Sundays following the mother series. Even though it fell over the course of the broadcast, the Sat.1 broadcast - in contrast to the US broadcast - achieved excellent values of an average of 2.00 million viewers, which corresponds to a 14.6 percent market share. In the advertising-relevant target group of 14 to 49 year olds, the market share was 16.9 percent with 1.11 million viewers.
In Switzerland, the station 3+ aired the series from August 24 to November 16, 2011 as a German-language premiere.
