Olivia Hussey
Olivia Hussey (born Olivia Osuna ; born April 17, 1951 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine - British actress . She starred in Franco Zeffirelli's film version of Shakespeare - tragedy Romeo and Juliet in 1968, the role of Julia and received the Golden Globe for best young actress .
Life
Hussey also starred in the Canadian horror film Jessy - The Stairway to Death (1974), directed by Bob Clark . In 1977, she played Mary, the mother of Jesus , in the TV miniseries Jesus von Nazareth , also directed by Zeffirelli .
Her parents divorced when she was two years old. Osuna is her father's name, Hussey is her mother's name, whom she adopted. At the age of seven, she moved to England with her mother and younger brother, where she attended drama school. She was seen in a play by Franco Zeffirelli, who then gave her the role in Romeo and Juliet .
Private life
From 1971 to 1978 she was married to the actor Dean Paul Martin , son of Dean Martin , who died in an airplane accident in 1987. In the year of their divorce, she married the musician Paul Ryan . One child each resulted from both marriages. From 1980 to 1987 her third marriage lasted to the Japanese singer Akira Fuse, with whom she has a son (Max, * 1983). Since 1991 she has been married to the musician and actor David Glen Eisley ; their daughter India is also an actress.
Olivia Hussey lives near Los Angeles .
