David Glen Eisley (born September 6, 1952 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American musician and actor . He was best known in German-speaking countries through his song Sweet Victory , which was used in an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants .

Life

David Eisley was born the son of actor Anthony Eisley. In high school he played drums for the band Mammoth , an Iron Butterfly cover band. He was subsequently the front singer of the rock bands Sorcery (1980-1983), Giuffria (1983-1988) and Dirty White Boy (1988-1991). He celebrated his greatest success with the band Giuffria when their single Call to the Heart reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1985 .

As an actor, Eisley appeared in the film Action Jackson and in the television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and A Heavenly Family . He was also an actor in several commercials.

In 2001, his song Sweet Victory was heard at the end of the episode Listen Who Is Playing ( Band Geeks ) of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants .

He is married to actress Olivia Hussey , with whom he has a daughter, actress India Eisley .
