Lisa Blount

Lisa Blount (born July 1, 1957 in Fayetteville , Arkansas , † between October 25 and October 27, 2010 in Little Rock , Arkansas) was an American film actress and producer .

biography

Lisa Blount grew up in Jacksonville , Arkansas. She made her debut in Who The Killer Calls in 1969 . After high school , she had several minor television roles before breaking through as the cynical friend of Debra Winger in An Officer and a Gentleman . For this film, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress in 1983 . She also played another memorable role as Jim Profit's hideous stepmother, Bobbi Stakowski, on the short-lived but acclaimed television series Jim Profit .

Together with her husband Ray McKinnon , Blount won the 2002 Oscar for Best Short Film The Accountant .

Blount was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday October 27, 2010, but was believed to have died on October 25. Her mother, Louise Blount, who had not been able to reach her for two days, drove into her apartment and found her daughter lifeless on the bed with the mobile phone in her hand.
