The Androids - They are among us ( Annihilator is) an American science fiction film from the year 1986 . The film was initially intended as a pilot for a series that was never produced. The film was released on video in Germany in November 1986.
action
A chase between the police and a young man. He manages to outrun the police and, with gun drawn, forces young Layla to bring him to safety. Layla persuades the man who introduces himself as Richard to stay with her for the night. That night Richard talks about his experiences with his girlfriend Angela. Angela was in Hawaii for three weeks with her friend Cindy. When they came back, they were different. Angela was emotionless and unemotional towards Richard. When Richard and Angela go on a trip to a lake, she tries to kill him. During a fight, he finds out that his girlfriend turns out to be an android . He succeeds in destroying the robot and sinking it in the lake. The police are now looking for him as the murderer of Angela, and Richard not only has to flee from the police, but also has to find Angela again.
Richard is now looking for help from Cindy, but after a while she also turns out to be a robot and tries to kill Richard. He manages to tear off her arm and escape. Richard and Layla use a list to find the other people who were on the flight to Hawaii. When the two find the right person, Cindy appears and kills them. Cindy is then destroyed by Richard with a pump gun . Layla suggests visiting an acquaintance of hers, this man knows about robots. When the two of them arrive at a house in the forest, they are met by the scientist and two teenagers. During dinner you can see that neither Layla nor the teenagers nor the scientist touch the food and Richard is the only one who eats something. In the late evening Layla drives away in the car while Richard talks to the scientist and notices that he is also an android.
Richard manages to put the android out of action. He picks up an assault rifle with ammunition. Suddenly the girl appears and attacks Richard too. He shoots his ammunition and flees from the battered android into the forest. The two are fighting in a barn when suddenly the boy drives a bulldozer into the barn and destroys himself and the girl. The next morning Richard wants to move on until Layla drives up in the car. He now realizes that Layla is also a robot and gets ready to fight. But when the police arrive, Layla flees. Richard now has to travel on alone to find his girlfriend Angela and to solve the mystery of the androids without being discovered by the police.
