Susan Blakely (born September 7, 1948 in Frankfurt am Main , Hessen ) is an American actress .

Life

Blakely is the daughter of a United States Army officer who was stationed in Germany . In the early 1970s she worked as a photo model . As an actress, she made her debut with a major role in the fantasy comedy Unter Wildden from 1972. In the disaster film Flammendes Inferno (1974) Blakely played on the side of Steve McQueen , Paul Newman and Richard Chamberlain .

For her role in the miniseries Rich and Poor (1976) Blakely won the Golden Globe Award in 1977 , and she was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1976 . For her appearance in the subsequent miniseries Reich & arm II , she was nominated again for the Emmy Award in 1977. In the television drama Der Bunker (1981), in which she appeared alongside Anthony Hopkins , who played Adolf Hitler , she took on the role of Eva Braun . For her lead role as Frances Farmer in the biopic Will There Really Be a Morning? (1983) she was nominated for the Golden Globe in 1984.

In the action film Over the Top (1987) Blakely played the role of Christina Cutler-Hawk , the ex-wife of Lincoln Hawk ( Sylvester Stallone ) and daughter of Jason Cutler ( Robert Loggia ). She played one of the leading roles in the two-award-winning independent comedy film Hungry Hearts (2002).

In the 5th season of the US sitcom Two and a Half Men , she embodies the writer Angie. She and Charlie Harper ( Charlie Sheen ), one of the main characters on the show, have a short relationship in episodes 5.18 and 5.19.

Blakely was married to Todd Merer in his first marriage since 1969. Her second husband has been the film producer Steve Jaffe since 1982 .
