Michael George Westmore (born March 22, 1938 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American makeup artist .

Act

Westmoreland is considered one of the most renowned artist of science fiction - feature films and television series . He started working for " The Munsters " in 1964 and worked his way up through all parts of the " Rocky " series to " 2010 - The Year We Make Contact " (1984).

Shortly after the filming of " Masters of the Universe " (1987) ended, he was offered the vacant position as a makeup artist on the new television series " Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century ". Westmore makeup artists dynasty

Michael's grandfather George Westmore (1879–1931) founded the first make-up studio in Hollywood in 1917; his eldest son, Michael's father Monte Westmore (1902–1940) worked, among other things, for Gone With the Wind . Monte's five brothers, the twins Perc (1904–1970) and Ern Westmore (1904–1967), Wally Westmore (1906–1973), Bud Westmore (1918–1973) and Frank Westmore (1923–1985), worked as makeup artists . The same applies to Michael's older brothers Monty Westmore (1923-2007) and Marvin Westmore (* 1934); The latter founded the “Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts” make-up artist school in 1981 and the “George Westmore Research Library & Museum” in Burbank, California in 2007 .

In October 2008, the entire family association was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
