Michael Chapman (cinematographer)

Michael Chapman (born November 21, 1935 in New York City , New York ) is an American cameraman and director who also appeared in various films in small roles as an actor .

Live and act

After training as a cameraman for documentaries, Michael Chapman worked as a camera operator for cameramen such as Gordon Willis (in the films Klute and The Godfather ) and Bill Butler (in The Jaws ) in the early 1970s . In 1973 he worked for the film The Last Command with Jack Nicholson in the lead role for the first time in the role of director of photography . Ten years later, in 1983, he made his directorial debut with The Right Shooting , Tom Cruise plays one of his first leading roles here.
