Zoltan Elek is a makeup artist .

Life

Elek began his career in the film staff in 1967 as an unspecified production employee at the Hungarian film production company Mélyrétegben . After other Hungarian productions such as István Gaáls Magasiskola , he made the leap to Hollywood in the mid-1970s , where his first major film production was the judicial drama Brubaker . Elek switched between film and television during his career. He worked on the one hand on the miniseries Roots - The Next Generations and The Blue and the Gray , TV series like Max Headroom and Life and TV films like The Day After - and on the other hand on Hollywood blockbusters like Indiana Jones and the last crusade , Rocky V and Independence Day .

In 1986 he was awarded the Oscar in the category of best make-up and best hairstyles for Peter Bogdanovich's drama The Mask together with Michael Westmore . For his work in US television, he was nominated six times for a Primetime Emmy between 1979 and 1995 , but could not win any of these awards.
