Linda Blair (2012)

Linda Denise Blair (born January 22, 1959 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American actress .

Life

Blair started riding at the age of six . After a few minor roles in film and television , she was selected from among 600 candidates for the role of the demon Pazuzu- possessed child in the spectacularly successful horror film The Exorcist (1973). Blair earned an Oscar nomination for her performance, received the Golden Globe Award and became a world star. The Oscar nomination only stayed because it became known too late that it was in reality Eileen Dietz who was seen in the toughest scenes as obsessed Regan. In addition, Regan was dubbed in the said scenes by Mercedes McCambridge. In Germany, Blair received the bronze award in 1974 and the silver Bravo Otto in 1975 from the youth magazine BRAVO.

However, she escaped the shadow of this role with great difficulty. From then on, she was often used in films of the horror genre, as a demonic or sexually abused woman. After recording Exorcist II - The Heretic (1977), Blair took a sabbatical and competed in national horse shows under the pseudonym Martha McDonald. In 1978 she returned to acting, directed by Wes Craven , in the horror television film Stranger in Our House, based on the novel by Lois Duncan . In 1979 she took on the lead role in the Canadian production Wild Horse Hank , in which she could bring her talent as a rider. She plays a brave cowgirl who saves mustangs from poachers.

In 1990, she starred alongside Leslie Nielsen in the horror comedy Obsessed With All Ghosts! to see.

In 1992 she made a guest appearance with Bobcat Goldthwait in A Terribly Nice Family . She played Peggy's cousin Ida Mae and Bobcat Goldthwait her husband Zemus. She also had a guest appearance in MacGyver (season 5, episode 16 "The Money Launders" as Jenny Larson)

After being convicted of drug possession , Linda Blair was able to assert herself as an actress in humble films and TV productions to this day.
