Bobcat Goldthwait
Robert "Bob (cat)" Goldthwait (born May 26, 1962 in Syracuse ) is an American comedian , actor , director and screenwriter . In the 1980s, he was best known for his role as the crazy Zed in the Police Academy films. He later devoted himself increasingly to the production of comedy programs and shot television series and feature films.
Career
Goldthwait made a comedian career early on, performing professionally in high school when he was 15. Goldthwait became known as a stand-up comedian and had three television specials in the 1980s: Bob Goldthwait - Is He Like That All the Time? , An Evening with Bobcat Goldthwait - Share the Warmth and Meat Bob .
He had his first major role in the films of the Police Academy series, in which he starred from 1985 to 1987. In 1988 Goldthwait was alongside Bill Murray and Robert Mitchum in The Ghosts I Called to See. For his first own feature film, Clowns - Your Laughing Brings Death (1992), Goldthwait wrote the screenplay, directed and also took on a role in the film. In the same year, he made a guest appearance on A Terribly Kind Family as one of Peggy Bundy's relatives.
In 1985 he appeared in the music videos for Leader of the Pack and Be Chrool to Your Scuel for the rock band Twisted Sister .
On May 9, 1994, Goldthwait made a controversial appearance on Jay Leno's The Tonight Show in which he set a couch on fire. He was charged with arson and kicked off the show.
Goldthwait is also known as a voice actor in the United States. He voiced many characters in television series such as Capital Critters (1992), The Moxy Show (1995), Auf Worse und Eifel (1995-1999), Hercules (1998-1999) and Captain Buzz Lightyear - Star Command (2000).
Goldthwait hosted the comedy quiz show Bobcat's Big Ass Show in 1998 . Repeatedly he appeared on shows like Chappelle's Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! on. For the latter, Goldthwait also worked as a director from 2004 to 2006. He ended his engagement in order to devote himself more to his film career.
In 2009 Goldthwait's film World's Greatest Dad, starring Robin Williams, was released . The black comedy God Bless America followed in 2011 .
Private life
Goldthwait married the film producer Ann Luly in 1986 and the couple had two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1998. In mid-1999, he got engaged to Nikki Cox , whom he met when he voiced Mr. Floppy for Farewell and Forever . The engagement was broken in 2005. From 2009 to 2014 he was married to Sarah de Sa Rego.
