PSI Factor - Chronicles of the Paranormal (Original title: PSI Factor - Chronicles of the Paranormal ) is a Mystery - television series , which from 1996 to 2000 in Canada was produced and consists of four squadrons with a total of 88 episodes.
In PSI Factor, the OSIR ( Office of Scientific Investigation and Research ), a team of scientists and experts, examines a wide variety of paranormal phenomena. Each case is presented by Dan Aykroyd as the moderator before the start and briefly commented on at the end. In the first season two short cases per episode were shown, in the later seasons only one case per episode.
The cases are allegedly based on facts. The OSIR shown in the series is purely fictional. There is also a real OSIR, but this stands for Organization for Scientific Investigation and Research and deals with thematically similar, if not quite as spectacular, incidents. There was also an Office of Scientific Integrity Review , which is now called ORI ( Office of Research Integrity ).
