Extreme Ghostbusters is an American animated series and a follow-up series to the animated series The Real Ghostbusters or Slimer! And The Real Ghostbusters , which is based on the 1984 movie Ghostbusters . The action is based on the same principle: four ghost hunters hunt ghosts with proton beams and catch them with their "ghost trap". The look of the equipment has changed compared to the Real Ghostbusters .
main characters
The four new ghost hunters are:
- Roland , a technical genius. He was instrumental in rebuilding the proton weapons. He is an open, but also very naive guy who would give anything for his friends.
- Garrett , the reckless guy who's in a wheelchair. But that doesn't prevent him from hunting ghosts by all means. Despite his physical impairment, he is very sporty and ready to have fun with lots of action.
- Eduardo , a vain, self-conscious guy who prefers to run away and hide. He has a difficult character that doesn't make it easy for his friends to get along with. Garrett in particular does not miss any opportunity to play a prank on Eduardo.
- Kylie , who joined the new Ghostbusters team later because she was possessed by the demon Akira. She is a reserved but self-confident young woman who often finds the solution to the riddle.
However, three friends have remained from the previous series:
- Dr. Egon Spengler : After the first generation of ghost hunters had completely disbanded, Egon, the forefather of the ghost hunters, gave lectures on paranormal phenomena at the university. With the appearance of the demon Akira, Egon became active again and trained the new Ghostbusters from the audience at his lecture.
- Janine will act as a secretary again after the Ghostbusters office reopens.
- The very hungry Slimer is the ghostbusters' house spirit. Slimer loves to slumber others, whereby his victim is always Eduardo.
Ghosts and demons
Mainly sagas and myths are used as a source of ideas for ghosts. But also own creations can be found in the series. B. Demons who appear through active writing on a typewriter or a person who can control spirits. With the "goby", a figure from the old series also returned.
synchronization
The German dubbed version was recorded at Arena Synchron GmbH in Berlin. Thomas Kästner , who also wrote the dialogue book, was responsible for the direction .
