Alfonso Lincoln Ribeiro (born September 21, 1971 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor , dancer , singer , director and presenter . He became known for the role of Carlton Bank in the sitcom The Prince of Bel-Air .

Life

Alfonso Ribeiro's parents came to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago . He graduated from California State University in Los Angeles . At the age of eight he began his acting career in the drama Hit me again . As an actor and dancer, he was its participation in the Broadway - musical The Tap Dance Kid perceived in 1983 for the first time.

His talent for dancing did not go unnoticed and in 1984 he took part in a Pepsi advertisement with Michael Jackson , in which he portrays a little dancing boy with a red leather jacket and glitter glove who suddenly meets his idol Michael Jackson. Ribeiro also appeared in the music video for the movie Wild Wild West with Will Smith . In 2012 and 2013 he directed several episodes of Shake It Up - Tanzen ist alles and also played a small supporting role as a teacher in one episode.
