Victoria Principal (born January 3, 1950 in Fukuoka Prefecture , Japan ) is an American actress and author .

Life

She was born as the elder of two daughters of the American Air Force - Sergeant Victor Principal and his wife Bertha Ree Veal. She is of Italian, English and Filipino descent. Due to the frequently changing locations of her father, she grew up in London , Florida , Puerto Rico , Massachusetts and Georgia, among others . She first appeared in a commercial when she was five. During her high school days, she became a model , and when she was 19 she was voted "Miss Miami". Then she went to New York, where she worked as a mannequin and actress. In 1973 she posed naked for Playboy .

Victoria Principal had her first film role in John Huston's feature film Das war Roy Bean (The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean) in 1972, opposite Paul Newman and Anthony Perkins . It immediately earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress . In 1973 The Naked Ape ( The Naked Ape ), in which she topless occurred. Her breakthrough came in 1974 with the film earthquakes (Earthquake) . After other minor roles, she played "Pamela Barnes Ewing", the wife of Bobby Ewing, in the television series Dallas from 1978 to 1987 .

Principal wrote several bestsellers on beauty, fitness, wellbeing and health: The Body Principal (1983); The Beauty Principal (1984) and The Diet Principal (1987). After leaving Dallas in 1989, she launched her own line of main care products ( Principal Secret ). She also played roles in television films and guest appearances in television series. She was last seen in 2001 in a recurring role in Titans - Dynasty of Intrigue , produced by Aaron Spelling . In the same year she published another bestseller, Living Principal, and ended her acting career.

In the early 1980s, Principal was in a relationship with singer Andy Gibb , with whom she recorded the song All I Have to Do Is Dream as a duet in 1981 . She was briefly married to Christopher Skinner, whom she met while working on the Dallas film works. In 1985 she married the American cosmetic surgeon Harry Glassman; the marriage was divorced in December 2006.
