action

Car-crazy high school student Kenny Dantley saves an old Corvette Stingray from the scrap press. Together with his friends, he gets the car back on the road as part of a school project. Shortly after the unveiling, the Corvette is stolen in Van Nuys . Kenny immediately goes in search of the thieves who lead him to Las Vegas . On his way he meets the prostitute Vanessa.

Kenny finds work in a car wash one day when he discovers his car. He follows him to a workshop where he has an argument with owner Wayne Lowry before being rescued by Vanessa. Lowry informs Kenny's teacher, Ed McGrath, who also travels to Las Vegas afterwards. While chatting with McGrath, Kenny learns that his teacher organized the Corvette theft to get himself out of his financial troubles. When McGrath suggests that Kenny work in the workshop, he accepts. He makes good money, but really just wants to get his car back.
